The seminar will feature some of the experimentally most advanced platforms for quantum simulations in dedicated sessions.

Photonic systems are ideal when information needs to be transmitted with little loss over large distances. At the same time photons can be conveniently manipulated using integrated devices.

Atoms can be easily trapped in periodic patterns, where they can nowadays be manipulated to an outstanding degree. They are thus ideally suited to simulate condensed matter problems.

Starting from the success in manipulating atoms, ongoing experimental progress is
promising similarly groundbreaking applications for molecules, which range from studies of chemical reaction dynamics to magnetism.

Finally, a particularly promising strategy is to combine the benefits of certain systems with those of others into hybrid systems, e.g. the long coherence and storage times of atoms or molecules with the ease of transmission of photons.
